The Quantum Well is usu­ally the first applic­a­tion of the Sch­rodinger Equa­tion to quantum sys­tems. It’s import­ant to note that quantum wells are not just a text­book applic­a­tion but rather are seen all over industry; in lasers for example! In this series of phys­ics tutori­al videos, I solve the infin­ite and finite wells along with the poten­tial step which later becomes trans­mis­sion through a bar­ri­er (quantum tun­nel­ing). I try to pay par­tic­u­lar atten­tion to the concept of par­ity to ease solv­ing the Sch­rodinger Equation.
