The Dens­ity of States (DOS) is one of the con­cepts at the core of Quantum Stat­ist­ics. Much of the study of sol­id state phys­ics, light, quantum mech­an­ics etc., begins with the defin­ing the DOS. Fur­ther­more, the DOS involves the study of the ‘num­ber dens­ity’ and ‘occu­pancy’ func­tions and they are dis­cussed herein depth.
